This was one of those films I saw as a kid and never saw again, but remember it every once and awhile. It sounds all cutesy and fun at first, but oho, believe me, if you have not seen it, it is terrifying.

The talking appliances creeped me out anyway as a kid, but the gloomy scenes (the only ones I remembered) scared me. I remember the blanket blowing away in the wind and being all scared and me thinking what a sad and scary movie it was.

Anyone else see it?

Yes. A couple of scenes can be a little unnerving to younger viewers (one that always left me breathing heavily was the nightmare sequence where the toaster's being chased by the demonic fireman), but I never really thought of it as a "scary" picture. Jon Lovitz as the radio was particularly amusing.

Yes, it is.

I've been meaning to see this movie again. It had a great voice-over cast, especially Jon Lovitz and the much-missed Phil Hartman.

Sincerely.

He plays the air conditioner that self-destructs near the beginning.
