First of all Hi, I am new here. I Found this forum in one of my many many desperate searches, this one gives me the most hope yet.
When I was 4 years old, my mom rented me a movie, that I loved and watched about 4 times while we had it. We moved literally within a month of that, and I never got to rent it again. I looked for it at every rental place after that and never forgot it. I have asked literally hundreds of people by now(I asked most people I meet) Every couple years I get totally consumed again trying to find this movie with nothing but dead ends.
It sounds totally crazy but it is a real movie.
(If memory serves, this was a film in which everyone had accents british maybe scottish)

It started out in the city in what I believe was current times, it was a young boy (maybe 2 of them) is somehow visited by a huge floating head with a beard, the boy holds on to the beard and the head transports him to what I believe is the past, perhaps Mideivel times, where he aquires a white horse. I remember 2 young boys, but I dont know if they came together, or if the city kid just found the other boy when he arrived. Anyway, they were on this big white horse traveling through this land, I remember a scene where they become invisable in a cave to sneek past guards??? Anyway, the only other thing I remember is the boys father ended up being a king in this land, he was thin with curly blondish/brown hair and a very loving man. It ended with a very catchy song that I liked a lot.

I know this sounds crazy, but for almost 20 years this movie has bothered me and nobody I asked has ever seen it. I hope one of you movie buffs will recognize this crazy but awesome movie. I appreciate any thought and time you guys put into this.

Hmm, strange vague description.

Time Bandits (1981)?
The Neverending Story (1984)? (I think it's this one, the theme tune was a pop hit by Limahl, sample clip available on Amazon)

Thanks for the input, I am familar with each of those movies and they are not the ones. I Am not totally sure that time travel was even involved, I just think that because it starts out in the city and ends in an old kingdom.

I know this movie was NOT mainstream at all, and very few people even saw it here in the states. I know this because I have asked so many. But I appreciate any guesses, that is one step closer to finding it

Thanks again
Amanda

I can often find people's films by searching IMDB with a few right keywords but in this case I'm stumped.

*clutching at straws* Zardoz (1974)? I know it's got this giant flying head in it and the main character does ride around on a white horse, but Sean Connery isn't a boy in it.

Could it be one of the many versions of The Adventures of Baron Munchausen? I know he rides a white horse and there is child in the story.....sounds far out enough to match up...

I think it was 'Bloodsport' with James Dean.

I think this one has been asked about before - 'Mio In the Land of Faraway':

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093543/
