The topic title is not a summary of life in the 80's, but close though.

DeathbyStereo,I realized this is where you got your name last night. Did anyone else think that was Keith's sister from Some Kind Of Wonderful helping her friend get her ear pierced on the Boardwalk? Who's that Kelly Jo Minter chick at the Video Store everyone's attracted to? Some people loved the Frogs, I prefer the attack of Eddie Munster anyday.

Well of course, I'm talking about the 80's Vampire classic "The Lost Boys". The music in this flick was outstanding. My favorite scenes were when Michael and Star notice each other at the Timmy Cappello concert to the song "I Still Believe" as well as the cave scene when Michael drinks the blood as they chant his name with imagery of Jim Morrison in the background, then the song "Cry Little Sister" starts playing. Who could resist that experience?

Grandpa had all the cool lines though. One thing about living in Santa Carla I never could stomach, all the d**n vampires. [Cool]

I love when the Grandpa uses Window cleaner as after shave!

I love the bathtub song.

I saw this movie at the theater with a bunch of people I worked with, they thought it was going to be dumb, but I was dying to see it, so I convinced them to go, and they all loved it.

I love the soundtrack.

I love the scene when they are hanging from the railroad tracks.

I love when they cook dinner, and try and see if MAX is the head vampire.

I love the Frog Brothers.

I love Corey Haim in this movie, he was awesome. I loved the look on his face when the grandpa brought the groundhog in and put it on his night stand.

OK I understand the Molly Ringwald poster on the wall, but what's up with Rob Lowe one across from Corey's bed? [Razz] Is there something I shouldn't know that I should know? [Big Grin]

My cousin had that exact same poster in her room.

I never understood Corey either, he must have been a fan. [Confused]

Loved the ‘INXS’ track as well. So glad they didn’t make a sequel to ‘The Lost Boys’, in fact this post has inspired me to go and watch it again, alas, albeit on the humble VHS, as I’ve yet to buy the collector’s edition DVD.

As for the Rob Lowe poster: Maybe because Rob in ‘St. Elmo’s Fire’ was the ultimate 80’s ideal for any 20something man of the era (not ideal as in gay, but as in that was the kind of person people wanted to be: a yellow tank top wearing loser saxophonist who sleeps around and still has Demi Moore pining after him [Wink] ).

[Cool] I totally love this movie!!! (surprise, huh...)

"I will pray, that I'll never need to call you!" and then that cool INXS song kicks in.
I used to watch this over and over when I was in High School, even bought the soundtrack, and then somehow forgot about it. Last year I got the DVD, found my old soundtrack in my old room at my parents' place, and was totally thrilled that the song by Tim Capello actually was on it! You know how you usually never find the songs you want on soundtracks...

Just last night, Speed II was on TV (just another bad sequel), and I thought Jason Patric has aged very nicely - still yummy!

Awesome movie--I was just thinking about watching it again this morning.

I don't know if Haim's character was trying to be like Rob Lowe, but his fashion sense just threw any of his hopes out the window--It was a far cry from his goal.

The collector's edition DVD has TONS of extras, but I thought it was worth buying just for the deleted scenes. I loved the scene where Max was showing the mom (Ooh, haven't watched it so long that I forgot her name already. >.<) around his house--It was an awesome house, too. I mean, it'd be awesome to live there. I think if they'd kept the scene in, they might've had more time to explore their relationship--But then again, if there's less screen time, there's more surprise at the end of the movie. [Big Grin] My personal favorite of the deleted scenes is at the beach where Sam is reading the comic books and floating in the water and then everyone runs by him and don't care that he's all wet. [Big Grin] He's like, "HEY!"

Kinda off topic, but I was just watching the episode of Big Wolf on Campus which guest-starred Corey Haim. Say what you will, but he's still got it--Even if the vampire makeup looked just atrocious. They had to warp his voice to make it sound intimidating, but I always find it funny to imagine the episode if they'd used his real voice as a vampire--He'd be all nasally and unintimidating. [Big Grin] I have that episode on my computer, by the way, if anyone wants to see if I can send it to 'em through MSN Messenger.
