What Aussie films should I be on the look out for? I like the quirkyness and off-beat feel to them that Hollywood just can't produce.

So far I have:

BMX Bandits (1983)
Frog Dreaming (1986) aka The Go-Kids aka The Quest
Malcolm (1986)
Razorback (1984)
Rikky and Pete (1988)
The 13th Floor (1988) (not one to add to a want list)
The Coca-Cola Kid (1985)
Young Einstein (1988)

Another vote for 'Strictly Ballroom'. Also as some of the titles mentioned aren't in the 80's. Try 'Flirting' and 'The Dish'. And although it's from New Zealand I've heard great things about 'The Quiet Earth'...

Third vote for Strictly Ballroom, not a film I'd go and specifically buy but have and will watch it whenever it comes on tv. I have The Quiet Earth DVD, poor picture quality but great film.

Saw The Dish a while back and enjoyed it. Cheers for the other suggestions I'll look them up.
