I just started buying DVD's.(I Know) I got the Goonies DVD. It is so awesome. The commentary was so hilarious. Most of the cast reunited for it. So my question for you guys is: What are some great 80's DVD's with extras and commentary? I also got Heathers DVD Good one too!

Some good DVD commentaries:
Time Bandits region 2, quite a lot of the main players have their say UHF region 1, Weird Al gets up and walks across the screen a couple of times! Ghostbusters region 2, you can see a silloette of them while the commentary is running

Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Fast Times at Ridgemont High both have excellent commentaries. You learn a lot of cool little tidbits about each film directly from the mouths of the directors.
The Pee Wee's Big Adventure commentary by actor Paul Reubens and director Tim Burton is good in parts, but it's mostly of them spotting props in the film and claiming, "I've got that!" or "That's at my house now!" There is also another commentary on a separate track with music composer Danny Elfman from the 80s group Oingo Boingo that's interesting.

Ferris Bueller has a great John Hughes commentary. Its informative, and though he's all alone on the track, he's almost constantly talking. Unlike, say, Tim Burton on the Edward Scissorhands track which is HORRIBLE. (many long pauses, and he has nothing interesting to say throught the entire track) Same goes for National Lampoon's European Vacation, Chevy Chase is alone on that one, and he's often silent and boring.
Pee-wee's Big Adventure has a decent one with Paul Reubens and Tim Burton.
Fast Times at Ridgemont High is great with Cameron Crowe and Amy Heckerling
Goonies is the coolest commentary ever...
Say Anything has an amazing commentary with Cameron Crowe, John Cusack and Ione Skye. (sp?)
Gremlins: Special Edition has 2 great commentaries
The UHF commentary is funny
Stand By Me has a pretty dull commentary with Rob Reiner...

Just remembered the commentary tracks on Red Dwarf series 1 & 2, all the main cast commentating on all the episodes, very funny and quite insightful sometimes (they point out visual bits you might have missed). Can't wait till November for series 3 DVD and then February for series 4, then next November for series 5 etc. etc.

You guys pretty much nailed all the good ones. Ferris, Fast Times, Pee Wees. Goonies was ok (Feldman is annoying), Gremlins was ok, but Galligan got nerdy ("Pheebs, remember that!") and **** Miller wasn't really needed.
Nightmare on Elm Street is a good one, they have like four people on it.
You'll find out every piece of info you could want with the Back to the Future ones. Bob Gale covers everything.

I agree with McFly that the Back to the future DVD's are packed with info. They answered every question I had except one, why didn't Claudia Wells return for the sequels? I'm dying to know! If anyone does know please tell!
The Goonies commentary was fun but a little cluttered.
Fast times had a really enjoyable commentary, you're basically listening to two old friends reminisce about making a film they both loved.
I thought that St Elmo's fire had a good commentary.

The dvd for Big Trouble In Little China had a whole heap of extras, including around half an hour of deleted scenes if I recall....
