Rags to Riches is an American musical comedy drama series
that was broadcast on NBC for two seasons from 1987 to 1988.
Set in the 1960s, the series tells the story of Nick Foley, a self-made millionaire who adopts five orphan girls.
Each episode included music videos of hit songs from the era sung by the cast integrated into the plot
(usually with the lyrics changed so that they provided comment on the storyline). (Wikipedia)

Just watched this 95 minute pilot and this seems to be a nice sentimental tv-show.
The girls were energetic, i liked the fashion and the songs.

Starring Joseph Bologna, Tisha Campbell-Martin, Heather McAdam, Kimiko Gelman,
Blanca De Garr, Bridget Michele, Heidi Zeigler and Douglas Seale.
Billy Warlock was guest starring this pilot episode.

Here´s some guest stars who appear in later episodes:

Grant Cramer, Ken Olandt, Richard Grieco and Eva La Rue.

Both seasons are available on dvd in Germany Amazon.de

Anyone who watched this show back in the day?

You got me all excited!!

I've actually brought this show up on many occasions here........I used to love it....the pilot was played like a tv movie. How were you able to watch it? I've had the vhs of it in my wishlist forever at the time I never wanted to pay what it was going for?

Now if I can make my DVD region free? or hey does region free play on any computer? interesting......how many us dollars does that end up being? I think i'm too excited!

The dvd was released last month!

So far i've watched the pilot....which was kind of boring.....and 2 episodes....which are a lot better.

The pilot's quality is awful....grainy and actually has black spots and sound issues all through it....you'd think it wouldn't be that hard to fix? oh well i'm just happy to be able to see it.........now they need to release Living Dolls!!
