You know those movies that you never ever get tired of no matter how much you see them? The ones that warm you up on a cold day, or pick you up when your favourite team has lost again, or your boyfriend/girlfriend has just annoyed you so much you kicked them out and are now thinking about there best friend?? Ahem... Ok too far, but you know the ones I mean right???

Here's mine: Big Trouble In Little China
Dumb and Dumber
The Burbs
Gremlins
Goonies
Uncle Buck
Back To The Future
Star Wars
Die Hard

What's yours?????????

In the wintertime I like to watch Nobody's Fool and Beautiful Girls, both 90's movies, both set in small New England towns. Beautiful Girls was based on a book, which became the television series October Road. It got cancelled- they never did "finish" it; alot of things never got cleared up. Anyhoo, I think I like Nobody's Fool the best because I love Paul Newman. He was feisty and funny up until he died. Oh yeah, Goonies is good anytime too, and same with Back to the Future.

My list will consist of many movies which are not 80's, but for some odd reason, I can watch these everyday:

Contact
Stargate
The Game
Sneakers
Pump up the Volume
Dumb and Dumber
The Vanishing
The Shawshank Redemption
My Cousin Vinny
Donnie Brasco
A Simple Plan
Fargo
The Bone Collector
Revenge of the Nerds

Notice that most are 90's? I'll be adding more.

A Simple Plan is pure genius. Billy Bob and Paxton were some team. Speaking of Paxton, Frailty is right up there too....awesome movie.

Frailty was genius 80sRocked. Really makes ya think about some religions. I also liked Simple Plan. We caught Shawshank on tv the other night. Tim Robbins had it all planned out schmoozing the warden. I thought the ending was great.....

Mr.Jack Burton, I don't think either one of those movies is "girly", but they are not loud action movies, or "shoot 'em ups" as my father would say. Just good stories. Check them out on imdb, maybe you'll want to watch them. We have OnDemand here in Pennsylvania, through our cable provider Comcast, and they have free movies. I know Beautiful Girls was on for a while. The Dentist is on there now, so I gotta watch it.

When I'm just really stressed out and annoyed about everything, especially work, these movies calm me down and help to take my mind off things:

The Rock
Back to the Future I
Goonies
The Lost Boys
Die Hard
Any of the Rocky movies (well, except V)
Some like it hot
Lord of the Rings (any one)

and many others I can't think of right now...

Shawshank Redemption is one of the best movies ever made in my opinion, but it is not a movie I watch when I'm in a bad mood.

My comfort movies are The Ringer and Kingdom Come. I can watch them over and over and never tire of them. Now, around Christmas, I can watch A Christmas Story and Nat. Lampoon's Christmas Vacation over and over, but I don't want to see them any other time of the year.

Kingdom Come has LL Cool J, Vivica A. Fox and Whoopi, among others. It's about the Slocum family, whose patriarch has died, and they're planning the funeral. Along the way there's plenty of squabbles and general family togetherness and un-togetherness. It's really funny.
