I was watching a little bit of it...tonight with my mom, because back in the late 80's, and early 90's, me and my mom loved some country music. We liked: The Judds, Alabama, Brooks and Dunn, Reba McEntire, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, Patty Loveless and several others.

We watched last night on Dancing with the Stars- Brad Paisley sang a song called "Ticks", and he said he wanted to check a girl for Ticks. We thought that was about the dumbest song ever recorded.

Then tonight...the new people dressed like bums.

Then Brooks and Dunn(who my mom saw in concert and she loves them) they performed with Reba McEntire...we remembered when Reba use to do concerts, and she would be dressed in gorgeous gowns, and her hair was beautiful, and all poofed up...tonight she had a tank top on and black jeans, and her hair looked a mess...and all we kept thinking was ...why do people put absolutely no effort in to anything any more, and the song they did, was stupid too.

I loved some of Garth Brooks's songs, he sings a song called "Shameless", that I loved, and the songs "If Tomorrow Never Comes", "The Dance", and "The Thunder Rolls"- were so well written.

I swear they can't even write a good country song anymore either. What a drag.

Here's the Garth Brooks song I love:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-MeRV6HdR4

and I always loved this song:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsOEaZgVvgg&feature=related

and when I was a kid, me and my mom loved Crystal Gayle...I remember this song from then-I loved it:

Does anybody else besides me find Kid Rock annoying lol? For one he can't sing and number 2 the hits he has always samples some other artist's music it seems like. He claims to come from a poor family yet his father or stepfather owned one of the biggest car dealerships in Michigan. He's about as redneck as Morrissey. Poser lol....

I can't stand Kid Rock....not only is he awful to look at, he's awful to listen to, he doesn't sing ..he screams.

I was listening to Linda Rondstadt earlier, I love her music. I love:

Blue Bayou, Your No Good, When Will I Be Loved, and Poor Pitiful Me...she did Country...but she had her own unique sound. I love her voice.

My Mom and Dad were always listening to country music in the 80's...so I still love a lot of that stuff...Don Williams was one of my favs....not a country fan in general. Once in a while I'll hear a new country song that I like, but it's always a ballad...I don't much like "boot scootin boogies"...aka up beat country tunes. I love all the legends mentioned above, and, after a minimum of six beers....it's not unheard of that I'll play guitar and sing "Folsom Prison Blues" by Johnny Cash.

I hate KID ROCK too...for all the reasons you listed! Another reason I hate him is he is MY AGE! "KID" Rock??? Hardly!!!!

I have NEVER liked Country or Rap. Just about every other kind of music, but them , really, no.

I DO like Kenny Rogers though.

I haven't liked too much of the stuff Kid Rock has done since his "Devil Without A Cause" album which I thought was fantastic. But I will give him credit for paying homage to all the different styles of music he grew up with instead of just pigeon-holing himself into one style.

Another thing I don't understand is the whole Bon Jovi going country thing. I mean why not just stay the way they were. They haven't done anything worth listening to since the 80s.....

Let's not forget the late, great Keith Whitley. As for Kid Rock, I'm like Sam--I liked his Devil Without a Cause album, and I like American Badass. Otherwise, I don't like his music much. When Bon Jovi sang a duet with friggin' SUGARLAND that did it for me.

David Lee Roth did a BlueGrass version of "Jump".

I think the reason they are going to country is because Country has gone more to Pop than Country.

It's off the album "Strummin' With the Devil: The Southern Side of Van Halen." I think it was like 15 of Van Halen's biggest hits in the tune of bluegrass. That's why I've said all along alot of this stuff today boxed and labeled as country (Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Underwood, pretty much anything) is more poppish sounding. It's a disgrace to label it as country. Waylon Jennings probably turns over in his grave everytime the new crop of "country" musicians release an album........
