We have a recent movie you seen thread but there's still quite a few movies from this past decade that can't really be considered new. So I figured now would be a goor time to start a which movie from the 00's did you just see thread.

I'll start

Hotel Rwanda(2004) 8.5/10

A very powerful and emotional movie. Definitely rivals Schindler's List. Don Cheadle as always was great.

{edit: sorry, Sam, but the grammatical error in the thread title finally got to me!}

Reign Of Fire (2001) - 8/10. Very different to what I was expecting, and all the better for it.

The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe (2006) - 7.5/10. Might have been higher, had I not had to fast-forward through the battle scene cos my kids didn't want to watch that bit.... [Frown] [Mad]

Today I watched Reign Over Me (2007). It was good, kinda different from most Adam Sandler movies cause he was so serious. It was kinda sad, I thought.

I watched Shutter (2008) last night. Yet another remake of a Japanese horror movie. It wasn't bad, but I expected it to be scarier judging by the cover. I'll give it a 7/10.

We started to watch Vantage Point last night...we bought it on DVD...I didn't mind it in the movie theater....The movie starts at 12:00pm...and they show each person involved in the movie...from each of their view points...and they rewind it to 12:00pm ...over and over...to show the next person and what they were doing at that time, then it all leads up to the main thing that happens...

after starting to watch it again...and they kept repeating it over and over...I couldn't take it anymore...it got really boring.

I've never heard anyone say a bad thing about Groundhog day...and for good reason. What a movie.

I have not seen "Vantage Point", but I actually LIKE the concept that you just mentioned: seeing the same scenes over and over again, but with different points of view.

This technique has been used every once in a while in movies and TV: Oliver Stone's movie "JFK", the underrated and short-lived TV show "Boomtown", the current TV show "Medium", and the Japanese samurai classic "Rashomon".

I did like Groundhog Day...but towards the end of Ground Hog Day...it got boring too...I lived Groundhog Day so of course it has special meaning to me.

I like the concept too of Vantage Point...and I liked it at the movies....but watching it on DVD...I couldn't get in to watching it again.

I do recommend watching it once though.

It's been a while, but the last '00 movie I saw that left any impression to me was the Tarantino movie "Death Proof" - absolutely loved it and the end made me want to jump up and cheer!

I rented The Ex with Jason Bateman. It's from 2006...I think I'm actually starting to feel the early signs of a Jason Bateman phase coming on. He's hot in a snobbish kind of way [Razz] .
