Has anyone here seen it yet? I am planning to go see it on either Mon. or Thurs. evening with the hubby. Is it really that bad, like the reviewers are saying? I'm not looking for intellectual plot- I just want a good fun action movie. I trust you guys more than those stupid critics anyway.

I want to see it, but not bad enough to go to the movies. I'll wait till it comes to Netflix and then watch it. It raked in big bucks but I have heard some say it wasn't good.

I'm going to see it tonight. Whilst I have low expectations for plot and acting levels I have high expectations for over the top action.

I'll post my thoughts tomorrow morning.

Ok,

Here's my review of the movie...

SPOILERS BELOW

Gunfights
Car chases
Fist fights
Knife Fights
Explosions
Witty banter
...and something about an evil dictator or something.

Total carnage and I loved it!!!!

That's strange...I went to see the new Julia Roberts movie "Eat Pray Love", and it had exactly the same thing that you just described! [Razz]

NOMS, we went to see it last night and it was awesome! It was just what I expected- not a whole lotta plot or acting, but an all out fantastic action flick! Although it was kinda scary seeing all of those old guys up so close on the big screen, lol!

My complaint was the action moved to face, cutting angles really fast. I'm old and couldn't get into the fight scenes moving that fast. and it was too loud. i'm 33

Great for 80s action movie fans (that's us btw): More than half the fun comes from seeing all those old timers on screen together. Cast-wise; a tremendous achievement, everyone got a fair share of screen time (Mickey Rourke is the only one who can be bothered to act, though).

Liked how the movie built up quite slowly to an awesome end shootout. Good, undemanding entertainment.

You're right about the sped up film and fast cuts; some fights you could barely follow who was hitting whom. It was very loud, but sometimes that's the only way to give an AA-12 with drum magazine and Frag-12 rounds the respect it deserves!
