Sectuars was a line of action figures released by Coleco in 1985. There was also a short-lived animated and comic book series made as well.

You can read about them more on the wikipedia page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sectaurs

The short-lived cartoon series was O.K. The comics weren't too bad either. But let's face it, the awesome action figures were what everyone remembers. I had a lot of other action figures such as: He-Man, TMNT, Silverhawks, Transformers, Star Wars...(ect)..growing up. But a few of these "Sectuar" toys easily topped those. Especially the bigger puppet-like insects the action figures would ride around on. I mean, you wore these things on your hand like a glove. How Awesome was that!?!. And their wings were motorized too, and they flapped to make them even cooler.

Here's a couple pics to reminisce over:

These things were just the coolest looking things ever to me as a kid, I loved 'em. So, who else here had endless amounts of fun playing with these awesome toys?

I remember the toys being advertised and really wanting them. I also remember the comic strip appearing in something like Transformers or Secret Wars. It came out when the market was approaching saturation. Never quite took off.

Devolution here,

They had a group of cliffhanger commercials, which might be on YouTube.

They were cool commercials.

Yeah, I was able to find this pretty cool retrospective video on youtube on these toys, this should be very helpful for those still unfamiliar with these things:

Wow, I would have never remembered these things. I had the one in the first picture and hadn't thought about it since I was little. Awesome Awesome stuff!

Loved Sectaurs as a kid - I had some of the figures, but have no idea where they are now. Great sculpts - very detailed & well-done.

I wish they would re-release these, but don't think they will - too obscure.
