That whole Rebel yell album is one of the 80's finest. I rarely skip over anything on it. Eyes w/o a Face, Catch my Fall, etc. He could have easily released more singles off this.

Billy is one of the real heroes.
He has done great music through his career
and most of his videos are awesome!

Gotta give some credit to Steve Stevens also.

I love Billy Idol's videos.

His videos were so cool to watch.

Synchronicity II by The Police, reminds me of a Billy Idol video...Sting actually looks alot like Billy Idol in the video.

That's funny to know that Sting did a parody of Billy Idol...that definately would be something to see.

you should get into his old punk band, generation x. some of his solo songs were actually gen x songs(dancing with myself, i think, was one of those).

I particularly enjoy Flesh for Fantasy at night, when I've had a few beers and it's nearing Halloween time...Something about that song puts me in a good mood!

I love Billy Idol. I seem to appreciate his music more and more as time goes on. I have his greatest hits album loaded into my iPod and listen to it all the time. There's not a single bad song on it. And Steve Stevens guitar work is awesome in its own right too.

Steve Stevens rocks on guitar. Billy's vocals are pretty darn good also.

Steve Stevens might actually be the most under-rated rock guitarist of the '80s. He never seems to get mentioned alongside the big names of the period like Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, et al. but he should.

I agree, the only time I saw Billy Idol I was watching what he was doing. His guitar effects were something else, making those laser sounds, doing things that Tom Morrelo of RATM would be lauded for 10-15 years later. It's too bad him and Billy had to part ways in the late 80's, I really hated the production on the later albums like Cradle of Love and Cyberpunk.

Gen X were an underrated band, even though they are lumped in with the rest of the UK late 70's punk movement, the critics hated them, they never got the respect or record sales like Pistols, Clash, Stranglers, etc. They said they were too pretty, poppy, commercial oriented to hang with the yobs. It's not on GenX's greatest hits, but try and listen to a track called Revenge off the the third and last album Dancing with Myself, it's really a Billy solo pre-cursor, in fact it would have fit very nicely on the first s/t solo album. Did anyone pick up the special edition CD/DVD of Billy's greatest hits recently?
