I think Rocket was Def Lep's tribute to their musical heroes like T-Rex and other glam acts. I still listen to Hysteria, it is such a tour de force for 80's albums, even non-singles like Run Riot and Gods of War really rock. You don't see that much anymore, a rock band releasing like six smash singles and videos for one album. I just wish that they could have released a better followup album than Adrenalize.

For me, from 81-87 Def Lep released my favorite three albums of theirs, High n Dry, Pyromania, and Hysteria. I have trouble sometimes knowing which one I prefer because they are all classic albums.

I bid on Hysteria on CD on Ebay...I hope I get it, I am in shock that I don't own it, what is wrong with that picture! Geez, I am trying to correct it. I guess my brother was such a huge Def Leppard fan, that I just listened to his stuff, and never went and bought them for myself.

I remember going to the beach in 1986 after I graduated, and I bought one of those sleeveless shirts that had the British flag on it, that Joe Elliott always wore, and brought it home for my brother, and he wore it out.

Isis, Hysteria is easy to find, so it should turn up. You have any good used cd stores in your area? Actually you won, congrats, it's a hella good album.

Def Lep was one of those bands had a big chick following in my high school as did Bon Jovi. But the riffs and production and harmonies were so good, you couldn't knock it. I remember one summer trying to shred an old pair of jeans like Joe Elliott, I pulled it off once, but they got so stringy that the wash made them worse, and you had to put them on so slowly as they were really delicate and could tear just like that.

The thing that I look at now is when you consider how many albums of 'Hysteria' were sold, and I will include Bon Jovis 'Slippery When Wet', that we all as kids were EXPECTING better for their next album. These albums defined the times, and although we didnt know it then, it was hard for these bands to step to the plate and deliver something better then what we already considered as 'tha bomb'. 'Adrenalize' and 'New Jersey' had some BIG shoes to fill.

I got my CD tonight!! I forgot the songs on that CD...the ones that weren't as big as "Pour some sugar on me"...like "Don't shoot, Shotgun- that song is awesome.

But, I played Rocket like 10 times tonight...that music is awesome...that is a "get up and dance like crazy" song!

It is the song that is on Hysteria right after Rocket....

I love Rocket...I probably played it 10 times again today while cleaning my house, it is my new favorite Def Leppard song.

The thing that I think is super sexy about Def Leppard...is almost every song they sang....was "implying" sex...but it wasn't so blunt as to come right out and be saying...come on let me rip all your clothes off....

I love the music in Rocket.

Hysteria might be one of the best produced albums of all time, Mutt Lange really went to town with it. And they recorded it under extremely excruciating circumstances too, lesser bands would have split up leading up to this album, as losing your drummer's arm, and Steve Clark's substance abuse , plus their relentless puirsuit for excellence meant thousands of dollars in studio bills that almost put them in the hole. But Hysteria is a masterpiece, just about every song sounds like a single. Gods of War was written in the Reagan era, but it's message sounds just as relevant today. Giving it a spin tonight.

That's exactly what I think too Riptide, that every single song is awesome, and how many CDs can you say that about?? I love Gods of War...that's a great song.
