Has anyone seen this? I haven't seen it yet. I just ordered it on eBay for about $5 (AMAZON also had it for $15 if anyone cares). I didnt wanna spring big money cuz the whole "movie" is only about 22 minutes long. Well, anyway, two guys with a video camera went to the parking lot before a JUDAS PRIEST concert and interviewed the drunk/ stoned/ psyched metal heads. It's supposed to be very funny.

I saw this on the TRIO channel once. It was pretty cool. It's from one of their 80's tours but can't remember which one.

I own a copy of this. I bought it off eBAY several years back. It was great to see how metal fans looked back then...Especially the women. YOWZA! Those rocker chicks were four-on-the-floor babes.

Sincerely,

John Kilduff

That would be "The Decline of Western Civilization Part 2 - The Metal Years" directed by Penelope Spheeris. It also included interviews with Megadeth, Ozzy, Poison, Aerosmith, Faster Pussycat, Lizzy Borden, Lemmy, Alice Cooper and a few others... I recall it being a fab docu-movie but a little heavy on the glam metal side...

Noms [Cool]

That one was interesting because there where seasoned rockers (OZZY, KISS) and then there were the up and coming people swearing up and down they were The Next Big Thing. Example: ODIN. They didn't quite make it, did they?

Aside from Chris W.A.S.P. Holmes getting trashed in his pool and predciting his own death (Didn't happen...yet...Chris!) while his mother beamed with...shame.....
this movie is also well remembered for a scene of OZZY OSBOURNE making breakfast in his kitchen!

I remember that movie.

If I recall they had another up and coming band(never made it) called London.
But it will definitely be most remembered for Chris Holmes.

I believe part I of The Decline of Western Civilization was about punk rockers but have never watched it or ever seen it to buy or rent.

I never saw the first DECLINE either. I'm not that into punk (aside from stuff like THE CLASH and THE RAMONES) that I think I could get into it.
Leonard Maltin gave it *** out of **** and said that most of the cast is now dead!
He gave it a good review so if I ever happened across it on cable I guess I would watch it.

Hold up. I got Leonard's book right here. Lemme list the acts:

DECLINE OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION 1:
ALICE BAG BAND
BLACK FLAG
CATHOLIC DISCIPLINE
CIRCLE JERKS
FEAR
GERMS
X

DECLINE OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION 2:

KISS
W*A*S*P*
LEMMY
OZZY
FASTER PUSSYCAT
LIZZY BORDEN
LONDON
ODIN
SEDUCE
MEGADETH
AEROSMITH
VIXEN

Yeah, who the hell are LONDON, ODIN and SEDUCE? I musta missed those guys.

Ahhhh...ODIN....

Odin was HUGE here in LA...in fact, so much so that they do reunion shows every now and then and sell out every time (they just did one with Blackboard Jungle on June 22).

Jeff Duncan went on to join Armored Saint after their original guitarist succumbed to cancer, and he also has a side band with his drummer brother Shawn (who was in Odin with him) and his other brother Matt (on bass). They are called DC4, and they kick ***, I found them when they used to play at this hole in the wall called the Cat Club here in LA a couple of years ago. If you have a chance to get your hands on a cd of theirs, I would recommend it.

London and Seduce were also pretty big for a while, but you really had to be there to know.

I almost forgot...Jeff Duncan was also in a band called Lost Boys (on Atlantic label) with the singer from Odin.

Let's play six degrees of Jeff Duncan! LOL

(just kidding)

Wasn't Seduce from Detroit? I remember hearing a song of theirs once on the radio and thought it was pretty decent. But can't remember what it was called. Thanks For The Angst perhaps.
