I finally got my hands on a copy of this soundtrack and it is so good! "But Not Tonight" by Depeche Mode is on here as well as other great tracks by Club Nouveau, Icehouse, Toni Basil (who actually had another song besides Mickey) and TKO. I can't stop listening to it [Razz] . Are any of you guys familiar with the movie, into the soundtrack as well? What are your favorite songs?

i love modern girls, and i have the soundtrack also. i mainly bought it for the toni basil song, cause there was no other way to get it, except for buying the soundtrack. BUT NOT TONIGHT is my favorite DM song! i like JEALOUSY, NO PROMISES & ONE WAY LOVE, and of course, floy joy's WEAK IN THE PRESENCE OF BEAUTY.
i wish they would have inculded the bruno x song, SAFARI. i thought it was cool, how they show cliff watching MTV, while waiting for the girls, and you see the old MTV intro, that they used to show just before a video, then it plays the bruno x vid. cool movie and cool songs!

I too have the soundtrack. Great stuff.

Every so often VH1 classic plays the video for the Depeche Mode song, complete with movie clips.

Awesome, I'm so glad to see someone respond to this. Yes, Ronnie, I too loved the Toni Basil song and decided to try and find it on Ebay. There was a bunch of other songs in the movie however, that didn't make the soundtrack. One is "Dancin" by Chris Isaak. You should look for it. I downloaded it and it's pretty cool.

I love when Girls Night Out is playing and you see them getting ready and they scan the apartment. The Barbie car, the MTV...perfectly captured the 80's era.

My favorite song is Weak In The Presence of Beauty. Love it! I think I'm going to buy a phone like the one Virginia Madsen has in her room...the lips...so hot!! [Razz]

And finally, I didn't know there was a video for the Depeche Mode song with clips from the movie. I just recently got VH1 Classics. I'll have to be on the lookout Lastdaysofrain! Thanks [Smile] !

P.S. Clayton Rohner was pretty sexy as Bruno X...totally good look for him [Razz] !

Hi! My name is Richie. I have to say that this is one of the coolest boards I have seen in a long time! I love Modern Girls, the movie because of Virginia Madsen alone, but when I got the soundtrack, it was the frosting on the cake. I do wonder though, if anyone at all has a way to get ahold of the Bruno X 'Safari' song? I have to say that I am more than disappointed that this song didnt 'make the cut'. All if the songs were great at the time and now, because they were so underappreciated, makes them that much better. I can still play 'The Girl Pulled A Dog' and my friends are wondering where I got such a kick *** club song. But I NEED that Bruno X!!!

Hey Richie! Welcome to the board. Dude, you're already off to a great start [Smile] . Modern Girls is such an obscure/underated movie but we all seem to love it here. As for the soundtrack, it's a goldmine of awesome music. I wish they had included more tracks but hey at least we got what we did. I'm off to listen to Club Nouveau's "Jealousy." If you need a copy, let me know. [Big Grin]
