Did you know that the Joy Division classic "Love Will Tear Us Apart" was composed by Ian Curtis as a sarcastic reply to Captain and Tennille's "Love Will Keep Us Together"? And "Do That To Me One More Time" is actually about sexual satisfaction?

Didn't know that tidbit. I always though that Ian Curtis came up with that song after Factory boss Tony Wilson had a Frank Sinatra's greates hits album lying around that he had been listening to.

I doubt the story about Joy Division. C&T only had two very minor hits in the UK before Do That To Me One More Time in 1980 ! Love Will tear Us Apart (1979) was about the split in his marriage to Deborah. His influences were the Doors, Bowie and punk bands like The Sex Pistols.
