I have been thinking of this movie for some time and just can't remember the title or star... I thought it was George Newbern, but after looking at his filmography, I was wrong... all I remember is that the star of the film was driving a red sports car across country for someone and was also trying to get to his wedding in time... along the way he picks up a girl and ends up falling for her and does not want to marry his present fiance'...
Any help with this title would be greatly appreciated!

Not the exact plot, but you are more than likely thinking of "It Takes Two" from 1988.
