i'm pretty sure it was the 80's might have been 70's too. This movie I thought had michael caine but not sure I looked in his IMDB and none of them caught my eye. I vaugley remember he was on a tropical island durring a war and he deserted from the army and became the leader of people on the island. It isn't the man who be king.
