Im looking for the name of an 80's movie. All i remember is a kid in some kinda army base or something, builds a robot an escapes in inside it. he had an older female character helping him. Any ideas will be helpful THANKYOU

Sounds a little bit like Flight of The Navigator although he didn't build the robot.
Excellent film although the part you are talking about is only a small part of it.

Yeah i'd Flight of the Navigator too..
The female charactor was played by Sarah Jessica Parker
