Not thinking that any song that was in Stand by Me would have also been in Boyz N the Hood. Maybe you are thinking of another old film. Do you remember some of the words to it?

well, i noticed you wrote about this on the 90s board, and to me it seems like you were trying to write the words for OOH CHILD
i don't know who sings the original, cause the song has been covered many times, but i would have to guess the group named THE FIVE STAIRSTEPS cause that version pops in my mind when i think of that song. i think that song was in boyz in the hood, it's been so long since i have seen that movie. but i don't remember it being in stand by me.

ooh Child was also in the movie Over the Edge as well as Boyz N da Hood.
in both movies theres kids being lead off by the cops wearing handcuffs while that song is being played.
