I cant remember if this was a 70s or 80s film i remember that the first part of the movie was an actual film then it turns into a cartoon. The boy is driving a car through like an alphabet land and he is really really stoned... then he starts driving the car with his feet. Thats all i can remember but i loved it as a kid, was just wondering if anyone can help, no one remembers it.

I don't know, but it sounds like the beginning to One Crazy Summer or Better off Dead, I could be wrong.

Could it also be The Phantom Tollbooth?
This one starts out live, then when the kid drives through the tollbooth, he changes into a cartoon, and only changes back at the end of the movie, once he's done what he needed to do.

I don't think it's 'One Crazy Summer' This movie starts with a cartoon and then becomes a movie. Also the main character of the cartoon scene is a lovesick rhino, not a boy.

Mmmm it cant be one crazy summer it definatly starts as a film then goes into a cartoon, its definatly a boy in a car so it could well be the phantom tollbooth, do you know anything else about that movie paul?
