"I saw her today at the reception..." Today's pick: The Big Chill (1983). A group of college friends are reunited after one of their friends commits suicide. Kevin Kline, Glenn Close, Jeff Goldblum, Mary Kay Place, JoBeth Williams, Tom Berenger, and William Hurt star in this drama that reunites friends at a time of tragedy. This truly is a great story for the older generation of the 80s. Great storylines intertwined about relationships, babies, drugs, celebrity, and infidelity. The music that is played in this movie really sets the tone very well. It is kind of like today how movies are being remade about the 80s and the music that is resurfacing and making a comeback. That is how it was in the 80s for the 60s music played.
What are your fondest memories of this film from 1983?

That is my husband's favorite movie-he loves that movie, and the soundtrack.
I like it too. I like the idea of getting together for a weekend, of just hanging out and reminiscing with your friends. Hanging out in your jammies, and cooking dinner together. That is the fun stuff of life.
I don't wanna get together cause someone killed themself, but that made them all think about their own lives, and what was going right and what wasn't.
The only thing I wasn't all up for ...is no matter how great a friend someone is to me, I am not letting my husband ....father her a child over the weekend. No way.
