I can remember New Year's Eve 1979...when I stayed up with my 6th grade best friend, and we watched Invasion of the Bodysnatchers on HBO, we made rootbeer slushies out of snow, and we ate Lipton Cup of Soup. We screamed our heads off when it became 1980.
I remember New Year's Eve, when I was 18 years old. That would have been when it turned 1987... it was right before I left home, and my boyfriend (at the time) and I went out with my Mom and Dad to the Moose for a dance. I can even remember what I was wearing. I never went to dances at places where people were drinking ever...and this one guy grabbed me and about drug me out on the dance floor (I knew him from when we were kids)-I thought my boyfriend was going to punch him a good one...and then at midnight this guy who was my friend's dad...and who I knew my whole life, he grabbed me at midnight and planted a giant kiss on me...I about fell over. He had done the same thing to my Aunt one year at New Year's, and so she and I laughed about what an experience that was...and one that we wished we hadn't both experienced.
I never went out after that.
Last year...we played games and then we went downtown with some friends, and they lowered a giant bag of Potato Chips from a local company...and we all blew horns and froze to death.
Does everyone eat pork and saurkraut for New Year's dinner?

I know my man. Busting them a bit. I'm just not used to seeing you post something that doesn't involve the word honey, babe, porno, stiffy, and other similar vocabulary.

On new years eve it's tradition with going to see live music. I have to see a band or something. I love it when the band are counting down from 10-1 to New Years.
If anyone wants to see a good new years movie try 200 cigarettes. Takes place in the Big Apple in the early 80's. A lot of actors/actresses in it, cameos galore.

Back on topic!! I couldn't stay up late if I tried, LOL, so I'm usually asleep at midnight. Last year I did watch a Cold Case marathon on TNT until late in the night.

My friends and I would always do New Year's Eve roadtrips back in the day. Chicago, Miami, Orlando (Disney World), Hilton Head, and of course New York were cities of adventure back then. Lately, I'm just lucky to make it out locally and stay awake until Midnight. I will say that the last couple of years I've taken my dad to Nashville to watch Kentucky football in the Music City bowl though. This year I'll be in Memphis for the Liberty bowl.

I've never enjoyed New Year's Eve. In the past I've preferred to stay home on my own, but this year I guess I'll have to do something if my partner wants to go out.
