I was in the supermarket yesterday shopping when I heard the immistakeable riff playing on the radio of Hold the Line. Then to my horror it wasn't the same singer. Like I understand the whole cover concept but why would anyone do a note for note version? The singing was wimpy too. I don't understand.

love the song, hold the line by toto. i'm curious on how the cover sounds. a lot of television shows, mainly drama series, have a ton of 80s remakes, i hear all the time.
gosh I was just in KMart and an oldie went on and I was humming along - sounded just like it did in the 80s - and then when the guy began to sing I realized it was a new version. But like you said - the changes they made were almost non-existant, so why cover it?
wish I could remember what song it was. It wasnt TOTO.
ahhh well, when I think of it Ill have to come back here.
