Just wondering if anyone here owns any albums by these artists? I'm familiar with them because of their songs on the Valley Girl soundtracks but don't really know much else about the rest of their discography. Should I pick up Josie's "Convertible Music" album or a Sparks cd? Any insight would be appreciated.

You can get both albums Josie Cotton did on one cd. There's some good stuff in there besides the Valley Girl singles, kind of 60's girl group influenced.
Sparks have tons of albums and material. You should get both 82's Angst in my Pants album, and 83's In outer Space which has two duets with Gogo Jane Wiedlin on Lucky me, lucky you, and Cool places. All you ever think about is sex and popularity are stellar tunes too. Also, Spark's 79 disco-ish song no.1 in heaven is must own as well.
Plimsouls only major label album Everywhere at once is good too, aside from the hits there are some good 80's power pop. There is also a sadly out of print Plimsouls compilation called singles+ that has some other gems if you can find it. Hint, maybe download.
