Anyone out there like this movie? I know the prospect of Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze doesn’t exactly smack of an on-screen duel of acting heavyweights but there’s something about the vibe of this film that has an enduring appeal.

Maybe its Kathryn Bigelow’s audacious directing, the extreme sports or the ‘Donnie Brasco’-for-surfers undercover cop element that works so well, either way, despite some shoddy acting, Lori Petty (I quite liked her until I saw 20 minutes of ‘Tank Girl’) and an average script, ‘Point Break’ deserves a good DVD release, hey there’s even a cameo from ‘Red Hot Chili Peppers’ frontman Anthony Kiedis Surfs up braagh! [Cool]

I liked the movie as well, despite all logic saying I shouldn't have. And you can't leave out the inimitable Gary Busey as his partner.

Also, it must be mentioned, that the horrifically bad "Fast and the Furious" was an unappologetic rip off of Point Break (street racers instead of surfers, semi-truck hijacking instead of bank robbing).

IMHO Patrick Swayze is a big goofy twerp, so it's just hard for me to get past that with any of his films. Don't have much regard for Keanu either, so I'll pass on this one.

I never made that connection, but you're so right. Either way, I still enjoy both movies.

You gotta love Point Break, it's a cult classic. And Keanu and Patrick aren't bad to look at! lol

Did they make the Presidents masks popular or were they popular before the movie came out?

This is one of my favorite brain out action films,i guess it helps that i surf as well but i have always loved this film.
Also like all the glaring mistakes in it that they never bothered editing out.Like the parachute clearly visible under his shirt and the magic surfboard that is broken in half in one scene then there is Keanu with it under his arm in a later scene.

This is a good movie. Even though I'm not much of a Patrick Swayze fan, I felt he played his role in this film well. And I'd also have to rank this one at the Top of the list as my favorite among the slueth of action films Reeves did in the 90's.

Oh..and who could forget the great acting of Anthony Kiedis in this movie too...hehe

I'm also a fan of the movie "Point Break"..

great action scenes .. surfing, lawnmower, bank robbery, skydiving, and car chases!

But my favorite scenes are the beach house party followed by the stealth surf mission.

I must mention this though.. I bought the Blu-ray on release because "Point Break" was a kick tassh dvd to showoff your home system to friends back in the 90's .. however I was kind of disappointed that it didn't look and sound better. I need to watch it again because maybe it was just a bad night..
