I remember seeing this one quite a bit when it was frequently aired on HBO and the Disney Channel back in the 80s. While a bit strange and occasionally dark (more than a few viewers have noted they were permanently traumatized by Manny the rat smashing our heroes to pieces, and while I wouldn't go that far, it was a hair disturbing nonetheless), it nonetheless catches your attention and keeps you with it to the end, with appealing characters and a nice subtle message of following your own path in life and making the best of it. Sad, then, it appears to have since slipped through the cracks over the years. Was anyone else a fan of it?
