PLEASE!! Help. My son and I are banging our heads and scouring the internet and can not find the name of a movie.
The ending is, “a mirror is a gateway to hell or somewhere. One of the female characters is getting sucked into the mirror and someone breaks the mirror just in time to save her. It may have been in an old house or maybe a hotel. I think this was a 70’s movie. I remember it had the same feel as The Sentinel. We would be so grateful if someone could help us remember this movie.

Possibly Mirrors, originally released as Marianne in 1978?

The MIRROR MIRROR movies were from the '80s and '90s ...but I thought I'd throw it out there as a possibility.

I looked these up on IMDB and I don't think its one of these however, I like the sound of Watcher in the Woods. We're going to give it a rent. I'll feel stupid if it turns out to be it! I'm pretty sure I'm looking for a 70s movie though. I love those films, The Sentinel, Rosemary's Baby, Exorcist, etc. I wish I had paid better attention, it was on TV late at night.

John Carpenter´s masterpiece Prince of Darkness (1987)
has a mirror gateway to hell.

The good old Donald Pleasence breaks the mirror just in time.
