I remember watching it as a child in the late 80's/early 90's. All I remember is that it had a boy who rode a black or white horse across a bridge. He was trying to get away from the ruler of the land who was trying to steal The Heart of the Land (maybe)? Once he got to the black gate on the other side the mean ruler couldn't touch him. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Sounds like Legend alrite... maybe Krull (1983), or The NeverEnding Story (1984)...
