OK I've been trying to recall the title of a movie I watched either late 80's or very early 90's.
The Plot: This teenager decides he wants to go and live the Californnia lifestyle instead of his dull life in the mid west. He wakes up and sets off to LA where he instantly meets up with a buddy who's a party animal and knows all the hip people etc. He's having the time of his life when suddenly at one of the parties there's an earthquake and just has things are looking bad he wakes up in bed and realises he's only dreaming. So he now sets off for real to LA to discover that he's just another lost soul in a big city with no friends. He does though hook up with a girl who went to LA with the same dreams and aspirations and both of them decide to leave California.
It was quite an interesting film but like I say I can't remember what it was called but would love to watch it again.

I saw this movie and i'm sure I had it on tape but I can't remember the name. I remember their was a blonde in his dream that he ends up meeting in real life but she is completely different personality-wise. If I think of any of the actors i'll post again.

I saw one similar in the 80, I think it had Robbie Benson in it, but I don't think this is it.

No that's a 70's movie, I've tried it already it was about the first film I thought of.

Thanks Jay Lee, that certainly sounds like the one. This has nearly put me out of my misery, the other problem now is finding a copy of it from somewere as there doesn't appear to be any DVD release.
Any ideas?
By the way I can't believe it was only a made for TV movie???

good question i liked robbie benson he was too cute too lol but i liked him in the movie ode to billy joe!! he played a good role in that movie !

I think Robby Benson is a director now. Also- he was the voice of The Beast in DISNEYS BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
