Band of the Hand (1986). It was kind of a combination of juvenile delinquents, The A-team, Rambo and Miami Vice all rolled into one. One of my husband's favorite 80's movies- I had never seen it before.

The Island looks cool, atmomik. I need to check my new stash and see if it's in there. (I have three big plastic bins filled with my hubby's homemade vhs of 80's movies that I have been watching here and there).

Great cast though: William Hurt, Sigourney Weaver, Christopher Plummer and James Woods.
That said, Steven Hill and Morgan Freeman had the best roles as seasoned cops.

Atomik I watched this while cleaning today haha and i'm with you....it was disappointing. I was totally enamoured of Wiliiam Hurt though.....his character was goofy and said all the wrong things but was so likeable.....with that cast you'd think it would have been great....but blah...

Remember when William Hurt was one of the most acclaimed male leads around? I remember liking 'Eyewitness'. I wish I could re-watch it now.

Grandview, U.S.A. It was good, except I could have done without the "video" scenes with C. Thomas Howell singing. Alot of stars in this 1984 flick: Jamie Lee Curtis, Patrick Swayze, C. Thomas Howell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and a cameo by John and Joan Cusack.

What is the name of this movie. I only have a few details, I use to watch it when i was young. I am 26. I think it is from the 80's. It is about kids and there is an older woman, maybe a witch, but she blends in, noone really knows she is evil except for this one girl who "figures it out" The mom like takes the kids to stay with her or to that town for the weekend, and her and her brother or sister find out strange things. The main fact that really stands out is that there are TWO teenagers in the movie a boy and a girl who are like ballet dancers. Always practicing around outside. The girl is mean and the boy has blonde hair and never speaks much. They look creepy like. The end of the movie I remember the girl is on the bridge and someone says like yea see (whateverthat evil ladys name is) is not soo bad. Then the girls like " yea i guess not" Then u see or hear the old lady evilly laugh at the end. I knowww this is a bad memory of lack of details! But does anyone know what I am talking about?????????? pleasee

I finished the Rachel Papers
 -

I saw it a long time ago and I liked it....the main character is such a dweeby little casanova it's hard to believe he gets the girls he does.

I loved that it was narrated and had the 80's "talk to the screen narration" (Ferris Style)

Also the massive sex scene followed up by the reality of Rachel in the bathroom, Rachel singing badly, smelling Rachel's undies and finding a surprise HA! I was waiting for Spader to be more of a villian.....it had its moments [Smile]
