Watching Fast Times as i speak! At the part at the beginning where it is kind of an introduction to Ridgemont High School to the tune of American Girl by Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. Great use of music for this scene.
Who can tell me what other movie this song was used in???

The other film in question that you are asking about in which "American Girl" is used in could be "FM."

I have never seen FM (or even heard of it) and have to ask...any good LWC? Looks like a brilliant soundtrack!

It receives not bad evaluations from all three of my film review books, Earl, thus I say it should be somewhat good.

- The Attic is a decent psychological thriller, very sad story. Starring Carrie Snodgress, Ray Milland and Ruth Cox. Snodgress and Milland are great. It´s quite slow but there´s nice twists in the end.

Watched Nadine (1987) and Miss Firecracker (1989) yesterday.
Nadine was a decent romantic crime story set in 1950s. While i like Basinger and Bridges very much, i think that Rip Torn stole the show as the ruthless villain.
Miss Firecracker was a good drama/comedy. Interesting characters and very good performances by the actors. Starring Holly Hunter, Mary Steenburgen, Tim Robbins, Alfre Woodard and Scott Glenn.

The Goonies - whenever I am feeling down about anything in my world, I watch that movie. You cannot sit thru that movie without laughing about something, and end up in a good mood.

I totally agree.. "The Goonies" might just be the greatest kids adventure movie ever made. There is something for everyone and the payoff is so worth the adventure. Watching "The Goonies" is like opening up your old marble bag from when you were a kid and realizing it is really full of precious jewels!
