Say Anything: 25th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray

Great picture and sound, just a shame I can't remember the last quarter of the film because I was drunk... [Razz]

Sixteen Candles: 100th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray

Caught this a few years ago, but never really invested myself into it.This time around I thought it was actually rather good. The star for me is Anthony Michael-Hall, he's a great actor and very natural..oh and its got a cool soundtrack too. [Smile]

Watched Saturn 3 (1980) late last night.

Wow, what a sci-fi turkey [Big Grin]
All kinds of problems during the production but it is still an interesting and quite entertaining film.

The movie was directed by Stanley Donen (Blame It on Rio) and stars Kirk Douglas,
Farrah Fawcett and Harvey Keitel. And then there´s this robot called Hector...
How can a robot look so stupid and clumsy and be so scary at the same time [Smile]
The space station design (the interiors) looked awesome.

Lots of cool stuff was filmed which they didn´t use so i hope that
they will release the restored version one day.

I think that Saturn 3 is the only film I have seen where Harvey Keitel gives a bad performance. He just phones it in. But who could blame him? The film is a disaster.

Yeah, Keitel was just plain bad and i read somewhere that
they dubbed his voice because the director didn´t like his Brooklyn accent [Cool]

Here´s an excellent Saturn 3 Thai poster but we can´t see Fawcett
in that outfit in the film because that scene was cut among many others.
Some of it was in the trailer though...

i watched kansas over the weekend starring matt dillon and andrew mccarthy,it's been one i've been wanting to watch for quite some time because i'm a fan of both the main stars.

i thought overall it weren't a bad movie, definetly no classic but also definitely not as bad as some reviews would lead you to believe.

i did think it slightly lost it's way in the second half, the opening say 15-20 are pretty hetic what with dillon/mccarthy robbing the bank, then it settles down quite a bit pace wise but makes for a very watchable drama showing these 2 charachters on the lam in rural kansas.

 -
matt dillon & andrew mccarthy.

both stars turn in decent enough performances, especially dillon who always seems 100% convincing when playing a bit of a fruit cake and the shots of the beautiful kansas countryside with its fields filled with sunflower plants and cornfields add a real atmosphere to the movie.

 -
leslie hope.

the love interest in the film is played by the very pretty leslie hope, she turns in an ok performance as does kyra sedgwick (kevin bacon's real life wife)who plays dillon's prostitute girlriend in a pretty small part that gives her not a great deal to do,but for what little screen time she has she makes her presence felt.

 -
the beautiful kansas countryside obviously plays a big part in this movie.

like i said kansas is no classic but it's a decent enough watch and i wouldn't hesitate to watch it again sometime in the future.

not bad at all - 7/10

Good cast and nice locations, just like warrior said.

"Mr. North, a stranger to a small, but wealthy, Rhode Island town,
quickly has rumors started about him that he has the power to heal people's ailments.
The rumors are magnified by his tendency to collect negative charges and give shocks to anyone he touches.
In his adventures he befriends an old man who is a shut-in and helps him rediscover the world." (IMDb)

Just watched Mr. North (1988) which was directed by Danny Huston
and based on the 1973 novel "Theophilus North" by Thornton Wilder.

It was a nice and sympathetic film set in 1926 Newport, Rhode Island.
The all-star cast includes Anthony Edwards, Robert Mitchum, Harry Dean Stanton, Lauren Bacall,
Virginia Madsen, Mary Stuart Masterson, David Warner and Mark Metcalf.

I loved the excellent performance from the cast and wonderful Rhode Island locations.
Feelgood movie!

Just watched Tough Guys (1986).

A fun movie directed by Jeff Kanew (Revenge of the Nerds, Gotcha! etc.)
Starring Kirk Douglas, Burt Lancaster, Charles Durning, Dana Carvey, Eli Wallach,
Alexis Smith and Darlanne Fluegel.

What is it with Kirk Douglas and pretty young women? First i see him naked with Farrah Fawcett
in Saturn 3 and here he goes to bed with superhot Darlanne Fluegel [Smile]
He also shows his jump rope tricks in both films.

Nice cast, fun gym and Chainsaw club scenes, Red Hot Chili Peppers on stage and pretty good soundtrack.
Good stuff!

Kansas was indeed not bad at all.

Anybode agrees that Lesley hope looks a little bit Demi Moore in this movie?
Also loved Andrew mMccarthy in weekend at Bernie's, still a classic hé.
