Lucas. Such a classic and one of my very favorites from that era. It's bittersweet now when I watch it, since Corey Haim's death. It's still got all of the charm and a certain amount of innocence but there's kind of a poignant cloud hovering above it.

Cannibal Apocalypse - I was just expecting a bit of a laugh but it actually had a very interesting plot too as absurd as it was [Razz] Why does John Saxon always make me giggle? [Big Grin]

The House of Clocks - One of the worst Fulci films I've seen but still provides some entertaining moments.

i watched the karate kid part 3 for the first time in many many years,i originally thought i remembered this being the weak link in the series,i feel very wrong now and would say there is actually no weak entry in the karate kid series (in the cases of 1-3).

i've always loved the 1984 original but always seemed to skip on watching either sequel,it was not long back i watched part 2 for the very first time which i was suprised how much i enjoyed.

 -

it got me thinking of part 3 which i had not seen for many a year and also got me to thinking was it as disappointing as what i always thought i remembered it being.
i'm pleased to say that i feel i was way of the mark as this proved to be another hugely entertaining sequel, featuring really likeable performances from the great partnership of macchio and morita again under the skilled direction of john g avildsen.

 -

also it was great to see a bit more of martin kove in this entry returning for revenge as sensei kreese and a really over the top and fun performance from thomas ian griffith as kreese's millionaire cobra kai dojo owner and ex vietnam war buddy terry silver

 -

sean kanan as bad boy karate champ mike barnes is not quite in the same league as william zabka was as johnny lawrence in the original but still does a decent enough job as does robyn lively as the girl who catches daniels eye who works in the pottery store opposite miyagi's bonsai tree shop.

bill conti's great music score is back and the soundtrack also features a superb track from the little river band - listen to your heart - http://youtu.be/RRCXeWV-mEE .

i know this 3rd entry tends to get slated by both critics and some fans of the series but i thouroughly enjoyed it and thought it made for a great ending to a terrific series of films.

Yeah it was, I'd never heard of it before to be honest and was impressed. Could do with watching it on DVD though or a better VHS though.

Wanted Dead or Alive starring Rutger Hauer and Gene Simmons. I don't know what they did to Gene Simmons' hair, but it was smooth and slicked back. Maybe a wig? It was a decent enough movie.

atomik, did you get the feeling that they wanted to make it into a series of movies? That was what I felt anyway.

Pittsburghgirl, I´m not sure but wiki says that Nick Randall is the descendant of the character Josh Randall,
played by Steve McQueen in the 1958 television series of the same name.
I would have loved to see more Nick Randall adventures.

Into the Darkness (1986)

"A bevy of beautiful models arrives on a tropical island for a photo shoot,
but soon they are being killed off one by one." (IMDb)

Wow, what a horrible straight to video UK thriller directed by David Kent-Watson.
This looks like a bad film student degree work mixed with Malta travel commercial.

The "movie" stars John Saint Ryan (I remember him from Delta Force 3), Brett Sinclair,
Jadie Rivas, Fiona Sloman, Paul Flanagan, Donald Pleasence and his daughter Polly Jo Pleasence.
They marketed this with Pleasence name on the cover but he has only about 5-10 minutes screentime.

Somehow they managed to get four Chris Rea tunes to the soundtrack [Confused]
Well, i suffered through this so you don´t need to [Smile]

watched ted kotcheff's terrific 1983 vietnam m.i.a flick uncommon valor about a retired army colonel jason rhodes (gene hackman) who's son frank has been listed as missing in action since the end of the vietnam conflict some 10 years earlier.

financially aided by millionaire businessman macgregor(robert stack) who's son paul is also listed as missing in action jason rounds up some of his sons old army unit with the plan to stage a daring rescue mission.

 -

with a terrific cast - gene hackman, robert stack, fred ward, randall 'tex' cobb, tim thomerson, reb brown and the late great patrick swayze there's some serious acting talent on display here,
the action scenes which mostly arrive in the later half of the movie are all well constructed with the final rescue scene in particular being superbly well staged.

 -

helmed by first blood director ted kotcheff there's some really touching moments in this movie, the ending in particular is a real choker as there's some really likeable charachters amongst this team of vietnam vets and like all missions not everything goes to plan and not everone gets to go home.

 -

seriously great vietnam p.o.w rescue flick which is both very touching and superbly acted. 8.5/10

http://youtu.be/5__fqcNhdDo - uncommon valor tv spot.
