Well I think I will cover this one today. Starring Aileen Quinn, Albert Finney, and Ann Reiking (sp)?? star in this musical about a little orphaned red head girl that gets the chance of a lifetime: to spend a week living with a millionaire. Daddy Warbucks ends up falling in love with her and wanting to keep her but others have other ideas. Miss Hannigan and her awful brother and sister-in-law scheme up a plan to get money out of Daddy Warbucks. Cute dancing and musical numbers in this flick.

It is a shame that Aileen Quinn hasn't been in anything else, I would love to see what she looks like today.

My favorite scene of the movie is when Annie arrives at the Warbucks mansion and gets introduced to all of the workers. I love the dance sequence and when they try to give Sandy a bath.

What are your memories of this 1982 musical drama?

I never saw the movie, but Aileen Quinn has done mostly Broadway and off-Broadway theater work, instead of movies and TV.

As for what she looks like today, try here:

Hope this helps! [Smile]

I love Annie....I just watched it over Thanksgiving with my 6 year old cousin and my sister. My little cousin had never seen it. She was in "ahhhh" of her much older cousins ablities to sing every song from the movie. Plus she loved it too.

You can't forgot Miss Hannigan....Carol Burnett! She was so awesome. My fav Tim Curry.... actually quite handsome in this one...and Berandette Peters. I noticed a very young Amanda Peterson (miss mancini) as an orphan and the girl from the first cast of Charles in Charge...her name escapes me at the moment.
(Did I just not prove what a geek I am?) [Embarrassed]

I rememeber actually seeing an adult picture of Aileen Quinn somehow....maybe on here back when. She almost looked the same redhair and freckles.

ok i'm off to sing it's a hardknock life while doing laundry.....My mother actually brought up as when I was a child how great I was at singing "the sun will come out tommorow" [Big Grin]

Finally got to watch Annie and it was surprisingly good.
There´s few not-so-good numbers and you can see some mistakes but that´s ok. The cast did a good job and i enjoyed most tunes.

The blu-ray includes fun My Hollywood Adventure with Aileen Quinn featurette and i even liked the "It's the Hard Knock Life" 2004 version by Swedish pop girl group Play.

A very good adaptation of the play--with a few features of Harold Grey's original comic strip blended in nicely with the stage script--with good casting all around. Carol Burnette and Tim Curry steal the show (the latter seems made for musicals, between Rooster, Dr. Furter, and a run as Scrooge on Broadway and in animation).

Aileen Quinn popped up (with Andrea McArdle from the original Broadway cast) on an afternoon talk show a few years ago, and looked like she's doing well. I recall she provided the vocals for Dorothy Gale in the English dub of an animated Japanese production of The Wizard of Oz that was produced shortly after Annie bowed in theaters, and did quite well in the role.
