k, i just had to say that she really doesn't get enought credit. i mean, all of her books kick major butt, and the movie adaptations of them all rock too. last year for school we had to pretend to be a person and like talk about them as if it were a talk show, and i was her. it was so much fun!! if anyone hasn't read all of her books, or seen all the movie adaptations, you really should!

I agree Goonie Girl. Her books and movies are simply marvelous, made more so by the fact that she published Outsiders at 15. That's impressive!

Oh yeah, I still read the books, and own every film adaptation. (speaking of that, there's no That Was Then This Is Now on the smartmenu)

you're right, it isn't on there....hmmm. i didn't like that was then, this is now as much as the other ones though, cause they put it in present time, which was the 80's but the book was in the 60's and i didn't think the movie did it justice.
