I seem to remember reading somewhere that Deborah Foreman was added to the cast after the death of the original Julie. Does anyone remember having heard this or who the original Julie was?

Thanks, this had been driving me nuts.

Hey pfbear13..

The info that Deborah Foreman was added after the death of the originally cast actress to play Julie in "Valley Girl" is inaccurate from everything that I've ever known. My only thought is that is an urban legend of sorts that was started because Deborah Foreman is not the actress used on the "Valley Girl" movie poster and VHS cover art.

We've had numerous threads through the years about 'who's the girl on the vhs cover of Valley Girl", so I actually asked Martha Coolidge herself recently. The answer to the poster story is that the studio was too cheap to pay Deborah Foreman to do the poster and brought in a model instead. Coolidge thought the move was rather petty.

For fun.. where's a thread about questions about VG I found on various sites regarding the movie:

20 questions about Valley Girl

She kind of looks like Beverly Leech, from Mathnet of Square One TV fame, Columbo and Sledgehammer!, which also had its pilot episode directed by Mathe Coolidge.

agree with Muffster..that topic was the coolest. 3 pages of Valley Girl, i love it! better than all the other VG threads i've come across...

we don't discuss movies like this anymore [Frown]

i remember being all excited when the dvd was coming out.

sorry, but the 'skillish' line has got to be one of the worst lines ever... that is, IF that's what she was saying. i'm totally convinced she was running words together, out of excitement from seeing Randy...ya Val? [Wink] [Smile]
