I mean he was offered to do Jedi, what if he accepted the job and what would the film been like?

Well, judging from Dune, I think it would have sucked!

I think it would've been interesting. But I happen to think that the entire 'space' side of Jedi is brilliant (the final battle and the Emperor stuff).

I also think Dune contained some moments of brilliance. It just didn't hang together as a film (and it didn't always make sense).

Of course, it would seem likely Lucas would have gone a long way towards reining Lynch in to doing things more his way, so any frivolity the latter might have wanted to do on Jedi would most likely have been flatly rejected.

I'm thinking that Yoda would have spoken backwords and met Luke Skywalker in a red-curtained room. Darth Vader would have carried around an extra tank, this one filled with nitrous oxide. Princess Leia and Chewbacca would have had a romantic interlude, and Jack Nance would have shown up as an intergalactic hobo.
