what a list.. they are canceling a lot of stuff. i think regular tv shows struggle a lot more now with the huge wave of reality and competition shows.

i love Nikita, i hope they hang in there.

i think there are a lot of shows that are like.. an hour to two hours long now, and so lots of people don't bother with those 30 minute programs anymore.

i record so many shows, i feel like i can never catch up!

sucks about Breaking In.. i actually liked it, but i admit that i didn't stick to it, every week.

and i had no idea that smallville got canceled.. i thought they just decided to end it? that show lasted forever!

abc family channel doesn't hold on to a lot of their shows anymore either.. they get canceled but start up new ones constantly. i watch Pretty Little Liars, that's probably not going anywhere, because of the audience it targets, and i'm not in that range at all, but i still like the show! haha

Wow Ronnie.. great info!

Was "Breaking In" with Slater even on long enough to find out if people like it? I thought it had potential and it was quirky fun.

 -

And "Friday Night Lights" is the best underwatched show on tv. I was with it from the beginning and highly recommend it to everyone. I can't say enough about how good it is.. you have to stick with it! I watched it on Directv 101, so I'm finished with it.. Wow!!!

The pic above are the main teenagers from the first couple of seasons.. but the glue of the show is the relationship between Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton.

Of course, most girls including my mom (that was an awkward discussion) say it is all about Tim Riggins played by Taylor Kitsch. [Embarrassed]

 -

Oh and "Pretty Little Liars".. got a secret, can you keep it? .. but I'm so not gonna tell it in this posting. ha [Big Grin]

My husband was bummed that V got cancelled. And we were both disappointed to hear Detroit 1-8-7 got the axe too, but at least they tied up loose ends in the finale. It seems that alot of shows, not just network tv, but also cable shows, have gotten the axe after this season. I am awaiting the start of the final season of Rescue Me on FX- I am wondering how it is going to end. I have a couple of theories, but don't want to share until season's end.

No real surprises among the chopped programs, although I think Mr. Sunshine and Chaos might have lasted longer in better slots, as both had inklings of reasonable programs (same with last year's The Good Guys had it not been forced into the Friday Night Death slot). For me The Middle is the best current show, and it's refreshing to see Season 3 is in the pipeline, although it might help them to set a final season blueprint early so they don't end up suffering when the kids inevitably grow older, as usually happens with these types of shows.

I hate that the Chicago Code got cancelled. I thought it was really good. But on a happier note, I am THRILLED that One Tree Hill has been renewed for its final season!!! [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

The only shows on your lists I watch are How I Met Your Mother and Vampire Diaries. All my other faves are cable.

Still missing my Legend of the Seeker, but Game of Thrones is easing the pain [Smile]

Survivor is back. I'm happy. Don't judge me too harshly - I have a weakness for watching people starve.

Is GoT any good? I read the first book, but I haven't heard any reviews for the series yet.

I can honestly say-it kicks rear! It's dark and violent and on HBO-so it's explicit. Having read the book, there shouldn't be any shocks for you-but it's not for the easily offended!

I ordered the set of 4 books from Amazon, looking forward to reading it. I've known of George R.R. Martin-a former student was a fan of his Wild Card series-but I haven't read any of his books before.

I love Vampire Diaries too. The first couple of episodes seemed really silly but stuck with it and it got a million times better. We've just finished the second series here. Great finale [Smile]

Helen, that is awesome. I also loved the finale. I have to agree about the first season..it started out very teen movie -ish ha, but it got better in the second season.
