Mickey Rourke as Whiplash is gonna rock! Personally I prefer Cheadle over Howard too. Great to see Rourke in the spotlight yet again.........

Let's hope they leave out Gwennie Paltrow (yawn). Her character was completely lame. And she is a horrible actress- so stiff and monotone.

The female leads always seem to be the weak points in these comic book movies. I don't understand why they can't cast likeable people with halfway decent acting skills. Instead we're treated to the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Kirsten Dunst, Katie Holmes, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Anna Paquin, Kate Bosworth, Jessica Alba, and Jennifer Garner. All unconvincing and more at home in romantic comedies.

i dislike all those actresses mentioned above, except maggie. i have seen her in a lot of other movies (mostly independent) and she is a good actress IMO. i didn't think she was fit for the role she played in the dark knight though.

but i totally agree that the women chosen for these roles in comic book flicks tend to portray their characters poorly and are hardly likable at all.

They need to have more edge like Angelina Jolie or Rosario Dawson.

Oh, this was so much fun [Big Grin] I liked it better than the first. Mickey was great [Big Grin] And I thought Gwyneth was awful in the first but much better here. I'd give it 8/10, woulda been higher only for a disappointing part towards the end.

Not seen it yet, but it sounds like it's got third-act-itis. A lot of modern films just throw action around as a way to resolve the movie.

I'm looking forward to 'The Avengers' movie!

It was good, better than Iron Man 1. I dislike origin stories at the best of times (Batman Begins being a notable exception) and the first Iron Man was nonsense IMHO. Here I was disappointed with where they went with Scarlet Johansson's character, RDJ was on fine form but Rourke needed more screen time. I have my doubts about The Avengers movie.

Watched Iron Man 2 yesterday.
It was a highly entertaining comic book flick just like the first one.
It would´ve been so awesome to see this kind of stuff on screen when i was a kid.
I hope that the kids/teens can enjoy and cherish it and not just complain what could´ve been better and so on.

Word. There was so little in terms of well-done onscreen superheroes back in the day (apart from Superman).

Wait... that sounds like something I'd do!

They added back some Theatrical/TV scenes to some of them, and did a Directors cut of 2, but it's more of a curio and should be watched after the original cut. The features on the boxed set are great, though - it's what finally inspired me to get a DVD player.
