I'm hoping some true 80's afficionados might be able to help me come up with the name of an 80's teen "romance" novel. It was about a girl who takes guitar lessons and falls for the teacher, an "older" boy who's in a band etc. Can't remember the main characters names but her best friend was Caroline I believe and it takes place in Hackensack New Jersey. Sound familiar to anyone? It's driving me insane!

............Main charactors name was "Jessie", by the way.

This movie is out on DVD now. I missed it (and the books too I guess....and, yes, there were a sewries of books, not just one) but I remember my friends older sister and her friends raving about the movie. A few years ago I did a search online and found it on DVD and watched it. I was afraid it wouldnt have "aged well", but I really enjoyed it!

Genius! My brain can now get back to reality. Thanks so much. Wish I had kept all those books now, they seem to have some cache now and I would enjoy rereading them for the nostalgia factor. Thanks again.
