There is no right or wrong answers. Dirty Dancing (various/artists) or Chariets Of Fire (Vangelis), songs with lyrics, songs without lyrics? They both belong. They both set up the scene/mood. My long-winded question is - what soundtrack or accompanying music had the biggest influence from an 80's soundtrack? ?
Me personally, I'm all over the map. I LOVE Tangerine Dream (Electronic Music who's 80's OST's include - Thief, Risky Business, Firestarter, Legend, The Keep, Catch Me If You Can (1989), Flashpoint, Near Dark to name a few and the V/A stuff which will probably have more than a few fans.
Name your fav. OST (original sound track), song and/or accompanying music from the 80's.

Fav. OST - Thief
Fav. song - Hard For Me To Say I'm Sorry (Chicago) Summer Lovers.
Music - Theme from Halloween (John Carpenter - yes he wrote the theme & directed) [Confused]
