These two groups were essentially the same weren't they? I heard TSC's Rumours and CN's Jealousy the other day and they sounded like the same band. Anyone know why they had to change their name? Or was there members leaving and such?

Were they actually the same band? I never knew that.

I actually have the 12-inch for Rumors, but I don't have anything for Club Nouveau. Interesting.

Who was it that covered "Lean On Me"? Wasn't it Club Nouveau?

I'm so confoosed!

I liked "Rumors" myself...That is, until my Mom hijacked my old school funk CDs. Yeah, nothing like watching your mother dance to songs about getting freaky, or in this case, rumors about Tina Turner's promiscuity and Michael Jackson's homosexuality as recited in a PG-13 manner.

Sincerely,

John Kilduff...

good question rip, because i always wondered about these 2 groups. i atcually always thought there was some kind of fall out with some of the group members. because if you listen to the words to JEALOUSY and RUMORS, it sounds like hard feelings between the 2, ya know? i don't know, i might be wrong, but it just seems that way to me.
but i loved club nouveau. WHY YOU TREAT ME SO BAD was another great song of theirs...but JEALOUSY would have to be my fave by them. i don't remember anything else by timex, besides RUMORS.???

Apparently there is a best of Club Nouveau cd that also includes some TSC songs. I will have to check my old TSC tape when I get back, I'm sure they had some other OK songs. I think Jealousy was on the Modern Girls soundtrack wasn't it?
