Does anyone else love this song??

Biggest Part of Me - Ambrosia
Sunrise, there's a new sun a-risin'
In your eyes I can see a new horizon
Realize, that will keep me realizin'
You're the biggest part of me

Stay the night, need your lovin' here beside me
Shine the light, need you close enough to guide me
All my life I've been hopin' you would find me
You're the biggest part of me

CHORUS:
Well, make a wish baby
Well and I will make it come true
Make a list baby
Of the things I'll do for you
Ain't no risk now
In lettin' my love rain down on you
So we can wash away the past
So that we may start anew

Rainbow, risin' up on my shoulders
Love flows, gettin' better as we're older
All I know, all I wanna do is hold her
She's the life that breathes in me

Forever, got a feelin' that forever
Together, we are gonna stay together
For better, for me there's nothin' better
You're the biggest part of me

CHORUS

More than an easy feelin'
She brings joy to me
How can I tell you what it means to me
Flow like a lazy river
For an eternity
I've finally found someone who believes in me
And I'll never leave

CHORUS

Beside me, need your lovin' here beside me
To guide me, keep it close enough to guide me
Inside of me, from the fears that are inside of me
You're the biggest part of me

Forever, got a feelin' that forever
Together, we are gonna stay together
Forever, from now until forever
You're the biggest part of me
You're the life that breathes in me
You're the biggest part of me

I found this awesome website with 80's music lyrics on it, and it had a bunch that I LOVE...and these are the songs that I think are quality stuff.

Check the site out:

Here's another one- I Love!

You Can Do Magic - America
I never believed in things that I couldn't see
I said if I can't feel it then how can it be
No, no magic could happen to me
And then I saw you, I couldn't believe it
You took my heart, I couldn't retrieve it
Said to myself what's it all about
Now I know there can be no doubt

CHORUS:
You can do magic
You can have anything that you desire
Magic
And you know you're the one who can put out the fire
You know darned well when you cast your spell
You will get your way when you hypnotize with your eyes
A heart of stone can turn to clay

And when the rain is beating upon the window pane
And when the night it gets so cold when I can't sleep
Again you come to me
I hold you tight and the rain disappears
Who would believe it
With a word you dry my tears

CHORUS

And if I wanted to I could never be free
I never believed it was true but now it's so clear to me

CHORUS

This song to me was all about the 80's...as soon as I hear I go back...

'65 Love Affair - Paul Davis
I was a car hop
You were into be-bop
You sang do wop diddy wop diddy wop doo
All of them changes you put me through

If I could go back again
Well I know I'd never let you go
Back with all of my friends
To that wonderful

CHORUS:
'65 Love Affair
We wasn't gettin' nowhere
But we didn't care
It was a crazy
'65 Love Affair
Rock 'n' roll was simple and clear
Oh, I still can hear
I can hear it baby

Well I asked you like a dum-dum
You were bad with your pom-poms
You said ooh wah go team ooh wah go
Ooh-ee baby I want you to know

If I could go back in time
Well, I know somehow you'd still be mine
I wouldn't be so blind
To that wonderful

'65 Love Affair
When rock 'n' roll was simple and clear
Oh, I still can hear
I can hear it baby

Well, I tried to make you give in
One night at the drive-in
You said oh no baby, oh no woo
All of them changes you put me through

If I could go back in time
Well, I know somehow you'd still be mine
I wouldn't be so blind
To that wonderful

CHORUS

We sang doo wop diddy wop diddy wop doo
Doo wop diddy wop diddy wop doo...

Saved by Zero - The Fixx
Maybe, someday
Saved by zero
I'll be more together
stretched by fewer
Thoughts that leave me
Chasing utter
My dreams disown me
Loaded with danger

Maybe I'll win
Saved by Zero
Holding onto
Winds that teach me
I will conquer
Space around me

Maybe I'll win
Saved by zero

Maybe I'll win
Saved by zero

Tenderness - General Public
Aaahh, aaah, aah, oh!
Aaahh, aaah, aah, oh!

I don't know where to start or where to stop
my lucks like a button
I can't stop pushing it
my head feels light
but I'm still in the dark
seems like without tenderness there's something missing

Tenderness
where is the
Tenderness
where is it

I don't know where I am but I know I don't like it
I open my mouth and out pops something spiteful
words are so cheap
but they can turn out expensive
words like conviction can turn into a sentence

I held your hands
rings but none on that finger
we danced and danced
but I was scared to go much further with it
just half a chance
make sure that one night you're here but
next night you're not
it always leaves me searching for a little

Tenderness
where is the
Tenderness
Tenderness
where is the
Tenderness

Whistling in the graveyard
calling up your girlfriend
just trying to make her understand
you're squeezing the telephone like it was her hand
no question
so many questions
she's going to catch you out boy
it all seems so underhand
now she's the only thing that ever made you feel like a man, man
madman madman

Tenderness
where is the
Tenderness
Tenderness
Tenderness
where is it

I held your hands
rings but none on that finger
we danced and danced
but I was scared to go much further with it
just half a chance
make sure that one night you're here but
next night you're not
it always leaves me searching for a little

Tenderness
where is the
Tenderness

When you're sick to death of second best, pet
why should the morning always find you unimpressed?
is your love like a button?
you can't stop pushing it?
oh this all night longing can be such a long time

Crazy for You - Madonna
Swaying room as the music starts
Strangers making the most of the dark
Two by two their bodies become one

I see you through the smoky air
Can't you feel the weight of my stare
You're so close but still a world away
What I'm dyin' to say, is that

CHORUS:
I'm crazy for you
Touch me once and you'll know it's true
I never wanted anyone like this
It's all brand new, you'll feel it in my kiss
I'm crazy for you, crazy for you

Tryin' hard to control my heart
I walk over to where you are
Eye to eye, we need no words at all

Slowly now we begin to move
Every breath I'm deeper into you
Soon we two are standing still in time
If you read my mind, you'll see

CHORUS

It's all brand new, I'm crazy for you
And you know it's true
I'm crazy, crazy for you

Send Me An Angel - Real Life
Do you believe in heaven above
Do you believe in love
Don't tell me a lie
Don't be false or untrue
It all comes back to you

Open fire on my burning heart
I've never been lucky in love
My defenses are down
A kiss or a frown
I can't survive on my own

If a girl walks in
And carves her name in my heart
I'll turn and run away
Everyday we've all been led astray
It's hard to be lucky in love

It gets in your eyes
It's making you cry
Don't know what to do
Don't know what to do
Looking for love
Calling heaven above

Send me an angel
Send me an angel
Right now right now

Empty dreams can only disappoint
In a room behind your smile
But don't give up don't give up
You can be lucky in love

There are so many great songs on that site. It is hard to believe they were all out in the 80's. See ...that's what I am talking about...about GOOD music. Look how many groups there were...I had forgot about some...like The Alan Parsons Project. How come there were so many great groups then...especially bands, and now like that "yellowcard" group- they can't even carry a tune.

Anway...check out that website. Those are some songs I love, and haven't heard for awhile.

Me too Tony!! I love those songs.

Here's another good one:

You Dropped a Bomb on Me - Gap Band
You were the girl that changed my world
You were the girl for me
You lit the fuse I stand accused
You were the first for me

But you turned me out baby

You dropped a bomb on me, baby
You dropped a bomb on me.

But you turned me on baby.

You dropped a bomb on me, baby
You dropped a bomb on me.

You were my thrills, you were my pills
You dropped a bomb on me

You turn me out, you turn me on, you turned me loose
Then you turned me wrong

You dropped a bomb on me, baby
You dropped a bomb on me.

But you turned me out baby

You dropped a bomb on me, baby
You dropped a bomb on me.

Just like Adam and Eve.
Said you'd set me free, you took me to the sky
I'd never been so high

You were my pills, you were my thrills
You were my hope baby, you were my smoke

You dropped a bomb on me, hey baby
You dropped a bomb on me, baby
You dropped a bomb on me.

But you turned me out, baby
You dropped a bomb on me, baby
You dropped a bomb on me.

But you turned me on, baby
You dropped a bomb on me, baby
You dropped a bomb on me.

You dropped a bomb on me, baby
You dropped a bomb on me, baby
You dropped a bomb on me.

We were in motion, felt like lotion
You were the girl for me
You were the first explosion,
Turned out to be corrosion
You were the first for me.

But you turned me out, baby
You dropped a bomb on me, baby
You dropped a bomb on me.
You dropped a bomb on me, baby
You dropped a bomb on me.

I won't forget what you done to me, baby.
You dropped a bomb on me, baby
You dropped a bomb on me.
You dropped a bomb on me, baby
You dropped a bomb on me.

I, II, III won't forget it
I, II, III won't forget it

You dropped a bomb on me, baby
You dropped a bomb on me.

You dropped a bomb on me, baby
You dropped a bomb on me.

I, II, III won't forget it
I, II, III won't forget it

You turned me out, you turned me on
And then you dropped me to the ground
You dropped a bomb on me.

You turned me out, you turned me on
And then you dropped me to the ground
You dropped a bomb on me.

You turned me out, then you turned me on

I'll Still Be Loving You - Restless Heart
Changing my life with your love has been so easy for you.
And I'm amazed every day and I'll need you
Till all the mountains are valleys
And every ocean is dry, my love...

CHORUS:

I'll be yours until the sun doesn't shine
Till time stands still, until the winds don't blow.
When today is just a mem'ry to me, I know
I'll still be lovin', I'll still be lovin' you.

I'll still be lovin' you

Never before did I know how loving someone could be
Now I can see you and me for a lifetime
Until the last moon is rising
You'll see the love in my eyes, my love...

CHORUS

I'll still be lovin',
I'll still be lovin',
I'll still be lovin' you.

Repeat and fade

This Time I Know It's For Real - Donna Summer
What would I have to do
To get you to notice me, too
Do I stand in line
One of a million admiring eyes
Walk a tightrope 'way up high
Write your name across the sky

CHORUS:
I'm going crazy just to let you know
You'd be amazed how much I love you so, baby
When I get my hands on you I won't let go
This time I know it's for real

Should I write or call your home
Shout it out with a megaphone
Radio, TV news,
Got to find a way to get the message to you
Say "I love you" with a neon sign
Anything to make you mine

I'm going crazy just to let you know
If I wait around too long I may explode, oh baby
I've been around the block enough to know
This time I know it's for real

Walk a tightrope 'way up high
Write your name across the sky

CHORUS

I'm going crazy just to let you know
If I wait around too long I may explode, oh baby
I've been around the block enough to know
This time I know it's for real

Devolution here,

Isis, I like these songs as well, and I am not trying to start a war because I know you like to post songs lyrics, but I think everyone knows just about all of those songs. I appreciate the fact that you might have just remembered some of these songs as opposed to me that never forgot them. I don't know, do what you want, I would have just listed the songs, and if someone asked me the lyrics, then I would have posted them. I do appreciate the link though. There is nothing wrong with being informative. I appreciate that. And with that, like I said, I am not mad, just voicing an opinion, because I could have just written something sarcsatic that would have sounded nasty. But I am not trying to be nasty, to you, or to anyone. Just thinking in terms of the site, and the bandwidth. But I could be wrong. Again, I have no problem, I just know that you like to go a bit nuts when you find stuff you like. Absolutely no offense intended.

We are DEVO

Gee...I just read that...no offense taken...I understand...I could have just listed the song titles...but I LOVE the words, and that's why I listed the whole lyrics...because I was hoping if someone hadn't ever heard of that song...the lyrics would jog their memory, or they would read the words, and say ..wow..those words are really nice. That's why I actually stopped posting them...because there were only just those few that I thought the lyrics were actually worth posting the whole thing of.

Does that make sense?? If we run outta space, just let me know...I can delete the whole thread, can't I??

'65 Love Affair! What memories. Gotta love that last chorus of doo wops.

Here are some more for the list:

Eddie Rabbitt "I Love a Rainy Night"
ABC "Poison Arrow"
The Alarm "68 Guns"
April Wine "This Could Be The Right One"
Don Henley "Johnny Can't Read"
Haircut One Hundred "Love Plus One"
Icicle Works "Whisper To A Scream"
Elvis Costello "Veronica"
Kim Wilde "You Keep Me Hanging On"
Red Rockers "China"
Tom Petty "American Girl"
Tane Cain "Holding On"
Kenny Loggins "I'm Free"
Dave Edmunds "Information"
Peter Schilling "Major Tom"

I think the 80s is where "fun" music peaked. With the advent of synthesizers, big hair and the British new wave invasion, it had evolved to the point where it could break out of the 60s/70s mode and start being creative. Today's stuff is all angst and intensity. Record companies don't want to risk money on fluff. It's always gotta be the next smash hit, so the proven moneymaking formulas are rehashed again and again.
