You can be in my band .. it is called "Quiksilver".. we are kind of just a 'basement' band at the moment, but with an incredible lead singer like you..

okay.. so our playlist is Guitar Hero World Tour.. but you got to start jamming somewhere.

Btw, I am currently in Chicago!!!

Have you Blondie fans seen Forever Lulu? Some silly Debbie Harry action in it.

Too right! Last weekend, I caught a live studio session show with Blondie and it was awesome. They talked and talked. She definitely had some stories.

Quick snip.. she commented on how she loves performing live.. and the chaos of it all, how something can go wrong and you pull through it.. live music!! She mentioned doing a show with Fergie (gag) and how everything was so choreographed and how it's totally not her thing.. [Wink]

They played this song, live on that show:

Blondie - Mother ..not bad.

I also ended up watching that documentary that Valley mentioned.. great stuff!

I was looking for live material of Blondie in their prime, and i came across this :

 -

This is really, really good !

It's a CD / DVD combopack. Disc 1 has a full concert from new year's eve 1979 at the Apollo Theatre in Glasgow.
Disc 2 (the DVD) has footage of that same concert, plus additional Blondie performances at Top Of The Pops
and The Old Grey Whistle Test, all from '78 and '79.

It's an official release from Chrysalis Records, so NO bootleg quality here !

Yeah, i heard that Beasty Boys cover.. they also did it at their Glastonbury gig in the UK last year.

By the way, here's the '79 show : www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfZNC9d_w98

The CD is much more complete though, running 80 minutes (minus a few seconds) and has a tracklist of 22 songs !

And here's Blondie giving a studio performance at the BBC last year, which also includes the Beasty Boys cover :

I wonder what you guys think about this one :

www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScndRcrZB2E

From Blondie's 2014 album Ghosts Of Download, it's a cover version of Frankie Goes To Hollywood's Relax.

I actually liked the first three minutes or so..they really did something original with the song.
I was somewhat less impressed with the second half, which might be closer to Frankie's original,
but not really my kind of thing, i guess.

Snapped up a near-mint vinyl copy of Blondie's The Hunter album today. [Cool]

I'm a big Blondie fan, though probably got into her music after the '80's (even though I was aware of her music during that era).

One of my favorite '80's flicks is "American Gigolo" (1980), and it opens up with Richard Gere driving down the highway while Blondie's "Call me" plays over the scene - excellent use of this song, and even though many of Blondie's songs came out in the '70's, IMHO they also typify the '80's to some extent...

Also a big fan of the movie "Trainspotting" (1996), in which a cover song of "Atomic" plays in a club scene - very cool.

Cardinal sin! Referring to Blondie as 'she' - Blondie was very much a band!

Same thing often happens with Sade, who - like Van Halen and Bon Jovi - are actually a band that happen to use the name of a core member.

OK, point taken [Wink]

I will say that Deborah Harry exuded sexiness/eroticism back in the day - not only while in Blondie, but in the '83 film "Videodrome". Extremely hot...though I didn't appreciate it as much at the time (being a kid) as I did much later, as an adult [Wink]

Totally agree, she was the perfect choice for the film.

Watched Bloody Birthday couple of weeks ago and spotted the Blondie poster on Julie Brown´s wall.
