It was a pretty good time, good crowd, talking back at the screen, all in unison singing "You're the best arouuund..." during the tournament sequence. Ooohing and ahhing when Daniel and Ali would ogle each other or kiss. Miyagi got big laughs, as you'd expect. "Hey, it's the 80s" just broke up the crowd, most of them being in their 30s.

Some people brought their kids, which was cool to hear them react to the bigger scenes in the film. A great moment was when you see Miyagi on the dumpster in the background and the crowd just went NUTS like they were seeing it for the first time, like "Oooooh look! It's the old man!" And after he kicks the Kobra's butts the audience applauded like crazy.

Let's see, umm...oh a few people kept slapping their hands together in anticipation of Miyagi fixing Daniel's leg. And of course "the kick" got uprorious applause, extended to the point where you couldn't hear Daniel yelling to Miyagi, "We did it!!" They were lovin' it. And, yes, my least favorite line, "Get 'em a body bag!" (always felt that line was ill-placed during the drama of the final moment) got a huge laugh and lots of claps. But overall an amped but respectful crowd.

It was a *really* lousy print, prompting one guy in the back to go "Is this the betamax print!" [Smile] But it seemed to only happen at the beginning of the reels. The surround sound was awesome, like when "The Ride" by the Matches kicked in, the drumbeats were huge, and the crowd went nuts at the appearance of Johnny and the Kobras. Nearly sold out, got there barely in time, there were maybe 10 seats left in this 150 seat theater.
