A young Brad Pitt plays the character of "Brian" !!! -This was only his second credited part in a movie.

The plot for this movie is based on the musical "Cabaret". The filmmakers pay a sort of tribute in the scene where Alex & Chris play love songs and they sing a song from the show. Molly Ringwald is currently playing the female lead in "Cabaret", on Broadway, which in a weird way brings the 80's thing full circle!

The guy who plays Chris' friend (with the blow up doll girlfriend) was also in the 80's sitcom "head of the class".

Patrick Dempsey also played a nerdy-type character, with a popular blonde girlfriend, in a movie who's title is borrowed from a 60's pop song, in "Can't Buy Me Love".
