Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid Trivia

This film includes clips from 1940's noir classics including "The Postman Always Rings Twice," "The Big Sleep" and "The Lost Weekend." These movies star some of the biggest screen legends of that era including Bette Davis, Kirk Douglas, Humphrey Bogart, Vincent Price, Cary Grant and James Cagney.

This was Steve Martin's second collaboration with director Carl Reiner, who both worked on "The Jerk." They would team up for two more 80's classics: "The Man With Two Brains" and "All of Me."

After Steve Martin "dissed" Terre Haute, IN (but before the film was made, he was presented with a bouquet of wilted flowers upon his arrival at the airport and was given a tour of the city from the front seat of a garbage truck

The movie grossed $16.959 million at the box office.
