The film was filmed at St Michael's College Tenbury, founded in 1856 by Sir Arthur Gore Ousely and others "to save the tradition of English Sacred Music". As a pupil in the 1970's one of the traditions of the school was to tour the music library and I had the privilege of seeing the original score of Dido and Anaeus (Purcell) and Handel's own conducting score of Messiah as used at its premier. The school was closed in 1985 owing to financial difficulties and is now a language school but tours are available by arrangement. I can still remember the peacocks crowing on the lawns in summer.
