A number of ambitious special effects sequences were also dropped due to time and budget constraints. One included Debbie Harry's character having malformed sexual organs coming out of slit in her stomach just like James Woods' character.

The majority of the trailer for Videodrome, was created with a Commadore 64 computer.

A line from this movie was put in the Skinny Puppy song 'Draining Faces'. The line was, "Please forgive me if I don't stay and watch. I just can't cope with freaky stuff."
